Our Klondike Build is officially underway.  Mainline construction has started in Moss Creek, Black Forest, Farmstead, and Carriage Estates areas. A map of the entire Klondike build is included at the end of this article.   Once completed, this project will allow us to serve approximately 878 members.  Mainline construction of this project entails 44 miles of overhead construction, along with 40 miles of underground construction. We estimate getting our first members connected in this area in early spring.

It’s easy to get excited at the first sight of construction in your area, but please remember that building the necessary infrastructure takes time.  Fiber construction is similar to other types of construction and can experience delays related to weather, permitting, and crew availability.    Throughout the build, you will see representatives from Wintek, powered by Tipmont, and Berry-It, our fiber installation contractor in the area.  Work will primarily occur Monday through Saturday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

You will see flags in your yard and/or along the roadways to mark underground utilities. Please do not remove or alter these marks for the duration of the project. If you need to remove the flags to mow, please replace them when you are finished. Work will consist of both aerial and underground construction of the fiber lines. Generally, the fiber lines will follow the same path as existing electric infrastructure.  Underground construction will include boring to install conduits that will contain the fiber lines. On select properties where the fiber cables come together, we’ll be installing underground vaults or “hand holes” that will sit flush to the ground.

As a local company, vested in our community, we utilize contractors who will treat your property with respect and care and minimize the impact to your property. In the event you have any questions or concerns regarding construction or notice any construction damage, please call us at (800) 726-3953. We understand construction can be a short-term inconvenience, but you can look forward to enjoying the shared benefits that state-of-the-art fiber service offers, such as increased home values and economic growth.

There are several steps to the fiber construction process, with many happening at the same time. For those that pre-order service at, we’ll speed the construction of fiber to your home by completing the drop and attaching the junction box to the outside of your home, while still in construction.  This will, in turn, make it easier to get you connected when we are ready for the in-home installation process and set-up of your internet in the spring.
